Tools to Measure Success

If you can measure it, you can improve it.

Measuring your progress is an integral part of coaching. I offer an array of proven tools that will give you context for your skills, highlight your strengths, and identify skill gaps for development. Using the right tools, I can help you target key areas that are likely to improve your performance noticeably at work in just a few months, and we can work together to create an action plan to get you on your way to your next level.

Leadership Tools

In order to lead others, you first have to work on yourself.  Decades of data on leadership development has verified that leadership is a set of competencies–i.e. skills and behaviors–that can be developed through self-reflection and the right experiences.

Like any long term goal, you need a strategy in order to develop your leadership skills. The first step is to objectively take stock of where you are and set a goal for where you want to be. Then you need to develop an actionable plan to achieve your goals, and stick with it until you see results.

Having a coach with access to data, research, and validated tools to guide you from  assessment through development and accountability highly increases your chances of success.  As an Executive Coach, I’m certified in Leadership Development through Korn Ferry Leadership Architect and KF360. This gives me a number of evidence-based tools for assessing your leadership competencies, from a 360 assessment to self-assessments.

These tools help you answer such questions as:

  • What skills and behaviors account for my success so far?

  • What skills and behaviors that lead others to success am I missing?

  • What skills and behaviors are getting in the way of my success?

  • Of all the skills I might want to develop, which are the most important benchmarks for success at my level?

  • What is the best way to acquire the skills I want and dial down what’s getting in my way?

  • How will I know if I’m succeeding?

I can give you access to the tools, methods, and research that will help you discover skills you didn’t know you had, and identify skills you need to succeed. Within a few weeks, I’ll help you zero in on what has proven to have the greatest impact on career advancement, and develop a plan to gain more experience and expertise in skills mostly likely to get you where you want to go.

Emotional Intelligence Tools

Emotional intelligence accounts for nearly half of job success and helps us understand why some people succeed regardless of intellectual abilities. With over 20 years of science, the EQi 2.0 offers a deep view of social and emotional skills including self-awareness, self-perception, interpersonal relationships, decision making, and stress management. Each of these areas is further refined into three sub-scales including measurements for empathy, flexibility, assertiveness, problem solving, and other areas of social functioning.

I am certified in Emotional Intelligence and can help you identify where your emotional skills are out of balance. Having the right tools and a guide to help you can ramp up your people skills and organizational savvy so that you start becoming a more effective people-person within a few weeks.

I also offer group coaching for problem solving, transition, and better functioning as a team.

Measuring Progress with Day-to-Day Improvements

Formal assessments are not the only way to measure progress. Coaching results in day-to-day improvements that lead to happier and more productive functioning in the workplace.

Ultimately, you will measure progress by improved working relationships, better outcomes, more creative problem-solving, and increased capacity for flexibility and stress. The most important measure is your happiness and success in achieving what you want.
