Skills We’ll Cover in Leadership Essentials
In this series of group coaching sessions, we’ll take a deep dive into the five skills you need to get to the next level of leadership.

INSTILLS TRUST: Trust is the basis for human connection. So, you’ll discover how our innate trust barometer works and why it is so sensitive. Furthermore, you’ll find out why fear and control erode trust and lower team effort and results. Additionally, you’ll understand the importance of psychological safety for creating the learning culture necessary for high performance. Discover what it takes to build real trust with your team. Sept. 24, 2025.

DEMONSTRATES CONFIDENCE: Learn what true confidence is and how to develop it. In session 2, we’ll discuss how to accept yourself fully, be authentic, and avoid getting triggered into responses that create conflict and doubt. Conversely, we’ll also discuss the difference between true confidence and arrogance. As a bonus, you will define your own personal leadership values and learn how to use your values to guide your leadership style. When you can stand up for your values and beliefs even when others try to bend your will, you will have the confidence you need to lead and inspire. Oct. 1, 2025.

RESPECTS OTHERS: Respect is mutual. In session 3, you’ll see why you need to respect others in order to earn their respect. This ability is rooted in awareness, which is the single most important skill for success. Additionally, you’ll learn how to develop your innate sense of self-awareness to manage yourself and become aware of how others feel. Also, I’ll cover the six behaviors that demonstrate and build mutual respect, including listening to others and empathy. Oct. 8, 2025.

NEGOTIATES ALIGNMENT: Negotiating for alignment is a specific kind of negotiation for setting meaningful goals. In session 4, we’ll take a deep dive into the psychology of teams and see why aligning goals with performance metrics drives performance. Additionally, you’ll learn how to use one-on-ones to gather information and align goals in order to focus your team on strategic goals. Finally, we’ll discuss how to use self-actualization in goal setting to motivate your team at the highest level. Oct. 15, 2025.

DECISION MAKING: In session 5, we will focus on two skills needed to make good decisions. The first is gathering information. Decisions are only as good as the information they are based on, so learning how to get what you need to know is essential. The second is managing bias. Although we like to think we are rational in decision making, usually it’s emotions that get in the way of good decisions. Through practice, you’ll learn how to spot and manage your own emotions to make better decisions. Oct. 22, 2025.

WRAP UP: Finally, we’ll bring all the learning of our previous sessions together to solidify learning. By the time you leave, you’ll know exactly how to use these skillls to motivate your team with a more inspirational leadership style. Oct. 29, 2025

PLUS! A PERSONAL EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE ASSESSMENT: Each attendee will complete an EQ-i 2.0 to assess personal abilities in what researchers call “emotional intelligence.” This is a scientifically validated assessment on the skills that matter most for leadership, inlcuding confidence, self-awareness, communication, empathy, and decision making. We’ll debrief your results in a private 60-minute session and turn them into a concrete leadership plan.
