A leadership workshop on how to build confidence to grow your influence.
This is the first session in a series for leaders at an inflection point. This month, we’re focusing on building confidence as a leader. In November, we’ll go deeper into communication for leadership presence. Early next year, I’ll offer a longer program for how to build leadership presence from the foundation up for consistent excellence at the next level.
That Old Voice: You’re Not Good Enough
Not long ago, I was handling a project I inherited for an employer. It wasn’t something I normally dealt with. I admitted to my employer that I didn’t know much about it, but I’d gotten an excellent outcome with a six-figure return. To my surprise, my employer said: “well, I think I’ll hire someone else to manage this project.”
I honestly didn’t know what to say. I didn’t want to get defensive. I knew that when I came on strong, he came back even stronger. And yet, I didn’t want to back down, either. After all, I had managed it perfectly well.
Stress took over and my confidence dropped. I simply froze — even though I knew, intellectually, this was a stress response. That old voice was louder: you’re not good enough.
Had I been my best self that day, I know there were strategies I should have used. I could have asked him questions about why he thought someone else would handle it better. I could have empathized by repeating his position as a question. If I had shifted into listening mode, I could have found a way to align.
If you find yourself sometimes at a loss for how to respond, and second-guess what to do, this webinar is for you.

What We’ll Cover
Most confidence problems look like two extremes: speaking up too forcefully and regretting it, or holding back when you have something important to say. In this session, you’ll see why both come from the same stress response — and how to find the steadier middle ground between them.
During this workshop, we’ll look at:
- How the stress response actually works, and why the anxiety you feel is a thought, not a fact about the moment
- How to tell whether a conversation calls for you to present or to listen — and why mixing the two up derails people
- A simple way to quiet the reactive voice before it takes over, so you can respond instead of react
- How to lead with questions when you are unsure to help you read the room before you take a position you later regret
This is a live, interactive session — not a lecture. Come ready to keep your camera on and unmute.
You’ll leave with practical techniques to help you enter high-stakes conversations and meetings with the mindset that builds trust and influence — regardless of how things turn out.
Who This Is For
This session is for you if you’re at an inflection point — newly promoted, navigating rapid growth at your company, or positioning yourself for what’s next.
Some of the following may feel familiar:
- You hold back ideas in meetings because you’re not sure you’ve earned the right to speak up
- You catch yourself redoing your team’s work, or telling them exactly how to do it, because it feels faster or safer
- You’ve noticed that your confidence isn’t steady — it shows up strong some days and disappears at the worst moments
- You’re capable and know it, but something is still getting in the way of showing up like it
